Cristiano Ronaldo made news again, not on the field, but at a fancy White House dinner with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The fact that this Portuguese star was at such an event hosted by former U.S. President Donald Trump shows how much he means to sport in Saudi Arabia and how much global football is mixed up with international politics these days.
The black-tie dinner took place in the East Room of the White House. Ronaldo was seated near the head table close to where both the president and crown prince were sitting.
